The Club

The Amateur Wrestling Academy was started by Big Coach, Armando Gonzalez Sr, 8 years ago with sons. Our goal is to help wrestlers young and old become champions both on and off the mat. We also focus on preparing them to overcome adversity they may encounter in sports and in life. We do this by providing an environment for learning self mastery techniques through training and guidance.

Our Mission

Amateur Wrestling Academy is a comprehensive wrestling system that has been built and fine tuned constantly through the years of practice, studying and competition trial.  AWA focuses on hard work, fundamentals and a meticulous technical approach to mastering the sport of wrestling. Teaching respect, discipline, and consistency are the tools used to create winning as a byproduct.  The ultimate goal is to create champions in life.
